Can you tell us a little about you?
My name is Martyna and I have lived in Warsaw for five years. I'm a cosmetology student, a vegan and posing is my biggest hobby. I wouldn't say that i'm a shy person but I'm definitely an introvert. People are always baffled to find that a model, especially one who takes her clothes off for shoots is not an out-going person and don't really like to party. I'm the kind of girl who likes to spend her free time reading books and playing video games with close friends. I'm also obsessed with disney's songs. (laugh)
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I'd love to boost my self confidence. Often times I deny myself chances of photo-shoots and give myself excuses like "this photographer is way out of my league", or- in case of modeling duets- "this model has worked with far more experienced people". I get that if they thought that as well they wouldn't offer to work together, but the doubts still haunt me.
How did you start modeling?
Completely by accident. Also my best friend took big part in it, she's a photographer and an alternative model as well, so she was a big support for me all the way through. She was the one who did my first photoshoot.
What is your beauty regimen?
As I said at the beginning, I am a cosmetology student so I focus on my skin and body care a lot. What is most important for me when it comes to skin and body care is that we have to be healthy inside to look good on the outside. I am not talking only about how important it is to drink water and have a good diet. That's a given, but taking care of the psyche and sleep is just as much relevant. Moreover I'm a huge fan of korean face care and I admire their approach.
What do you think of the work as a model?
for me it's more like a hobby but I admire wholeheartedly everyone who works as a model. It may look easy when we see pictures with pretty girls and boys on the internet but it really isn't. There's a lot of hard work with your body, your gestures, your facial expressions. The next thing is that you travel a lot and there is not much time for sleep or eating. You also have to fight with your complexes(because models have them too) all the time, especially when we are talking about nude art. Anyway, it is still worth it because you know you are a part of something beautiful and amazing.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?
I don't really like answering that kind of questions because I can’t be objective for myself. We should ask my friends and people who are close to me. They will have the best perspective on it.
What are your plans for the future?
I am not a planning person. I like to live in the moment but if we are talking about what I want there's a lot of things I could talk about. First of all I want to buy a motorhome and travel a lot. I really want to visit Iceland and Japan. I also wish to move to the countryside and open an asylum for animals.
If we are talking about photography I have my one, big dream - to be in front of Corwin Prescott's camera one day.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far?
Every photoshoot I did taught me something and I can't single out any of them but I think opportunity to work in duos and trios with other models was a valuable experience. I guess you can learn more when you are working with others.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
Don't let others put you down.Find your strong points and use it to your advantage.
What do you think of the magazine?
I love the concept of connecting people with similar interests and giving them space to talk about their experiences and to share their art and ideas. It is also a big support for all the new faces in the trade to gain recogniction.
