Interview: Photographer Alexander Hurman (Canada)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I am a Ukrainian photographer. Currently live in the North America. I first became interested in photography as a hobby since 2001, and professionally engaged since 2011. Today, I am a Qualified European Photographer (QEP) in the Federation of Professional Photographers of Europe (FEP), as well as a member of the Association Professional Photographers of Ukraine (UAPF). I really like to observe people, because the more a person does this, the more develops and works on myself. In my work, the main thing it real emotions, one that hides deep inside a person.

How and when did you get into photography?

It was in 2001. Sony's first digital camera came into my hands and I realized that I like it and I can do it because I see the result instantly and I can correct mistakes at the same instant.

What does photography mean to you?

It is a part of me. When I'm in the process of creating a frame - I dissolve in it and he in me.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I work in the genre a portrait, fashion, fine art and documentary photography.

Where do you get inspiration from?

I am inspired by art in general - music, painting, cinema and creatively people as well. I try to see beauty where it is difficult to see it - in the soul of object!

Think you in advance what you want in the picture?

Always. First of all, I imagine what the result will look like when printed in large size.

Studio, on location or both?

For me it doesn't matter where do photography in a studio or on a location - the main thing is to have the right amount of light with me.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

Hope I paid professional)

What has been your most memorable session and why?

I have a lot of them..... but probably my favorite is ballet.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Of course Canon) 35mm and 50mm

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

Do not set a goal money! Photograph a lot of creative shooting and everything will be fine!
