Interview: Photographer Janusz Żołnierczyk (Poland)

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Janusz Żołnierczyk. I live in Poland in Krakow, I'm 47 years old.

What does photography mean to you?

I have been taking photographs for 10 years. Photography is my great passion, together with partner Agata we prepare sessions. She deals with background or make-up, hairdresser and styling. We really like stylized sessions that take us to another world.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

We are passionate about every kind of photography, We are inspired by interesting places, books and films.

Think you in advance what you want in the picture?

We always go to a session with a previously thought-out idea, although there are also spontaneous photos.

Studio, on location or both?

We like working outdoors, we like old castles, old houses.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

I remember most of our session in the oppersdorff castle. The whole castle was only for us, there was a beautiful light and very successful photos were made there. We always work with one team.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

I work on the Canon system, 6d mk1, 5d mk4, I only use bright fixed focal length lenses, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 135mm.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

For people who want to start photographing I have the most important advice ... take lots of photos, look for inspiration in the surrounding world.
