Interview: Photographer Carlo Sandrini (Italy)

Sono Carlo Sandrini 40 anni di Brescia

Fotografo da appena un anno e mezzo, la mia passione è nata per forzatura, infatti dovevo fotografare la mia ex fidanzata, modella Italo-Tedesca per il suo instagram, solo dopo questa forzatura ho capito la mia vocazione adulta, che avrei potuto capire quando insegnavo in Accademia, infatti usavo molte slide per fissare nella testa degli alunni i concetti, le usavo come supporto essendo dislessico.

Spesso sono criticato perché eseguo tutto senza fotoritocco, ma la mia primaria esigenza non è fare una balla foto, ma raccontare una storia, infatti anche se per lavoro faccio fotografie fashion, prediligo i ritratti, ma soprattutto la loro storia che riassumo in 4 scatti.

Mi baso su tre semplici regole:

1 È la ragazza ce sceglie l’outfit (facendo ritratti sotto può tenere jeans leggings e soprattutto scarpe da ginnastica)

2 deve interpretare se stessa, un suo sogno infranto un suo sogno nel cassetto il suo hobby il suo lavoro la sua passione, oppure la principessa disney che si sente dentro

3 sempre accompagnata, fidanzato amico parente.

In un’ era dove la fotografia è sempre più Loki (più famoso per gli Avengers che per la mitologia wikinga) scatto esattamente mentre la modella si sposta da una posa all’altra così prendo lei veramente.

Scatto con una CANON 5D Mark III con obiettivo 50mm 1.4 e uso filtri graduali per incorniciare in uno o due colori il soggetto.

Il risultato a video che mi fornice il RAW con il MAC è per me così fantasticamente crudo che pubblico quel risultato. Mentre scatto non chiudo il set fino a che il risultato non mi aggancia emozionalmente.

Perdo molto tempo nel preparare il set e luci mentre lascio libera la modella più che posso

Il mio tallone di Achille è la scelta, non correggendo nulla in post, non scelgo la foto perfetta, ma quella che mi comunica e emoziona di più.

Ho grandi difetti, sono fottutamente testardo e quando inizio una cosa mi ci butto a capofitto, dopo un anno di fotografie, ho aperto partita iva, facendola una professione, l’assurdo e che vengo pagato per fare fashion e glamour, mentre metà dei ritratti sul mio profilo instagram sono fatti in pura collaborazione solo per poter raccontare storie.

Photographer for just a year and a half, my passion was born by forcing, in fact I had to photograph my ex-girlfriend, an Italo-German model for her instagram, only after this forcing did I understand my adult vocation, which I could understand when I was teaching in the Academy, in fact I used many slides to fix the concepts in the heads of the students, I used them as a support being dyslexic.

I am often criticized because I do everything without photo editing, but my primary requirement is not to do a photo bale, but to tell a story, in fact even if for work I make fashion photographs, I prefer portraits, but above all their story that I summarize in 4 shots.

I rely on three simple rules:

1 It's the girl who chooses the outfit (doing portraits below can hold jeans leggings and especially sneakers)

2 must interpret herself, her dream broken a dream in the drawer her hobby her work her passion, or the princess disney that feels inside

3 always accompanied, boyfriend friend relative.

In an era where photography is more and more Loki (more famous for the Avengers than for Wiking mythology) I shoot exactly as the model moves from one pose to another so I really take her.

I shoot with a CANON 5D Mark III with a 50mm 1.4 lens and use gradual filters to frame the subject in one or two colors.

The result on the screen that gives me the RAW with the MAC is so fantastically raw for me that I publish that result. While shooting I don't close the set until the result engages me emotionally.

I spend a lot of time preparing the set and lights as I leave the model free as much as I can

My Achilles heel is the choice, not correcting anything in post, I don't choose the perfect photo, but the one that communicates and excites me the most.

I have great faults, I am fucking stubborn and when I start something I throw myself headlong, after a year of photographs, I opened VAT number, making it a profession, the absurd and I get paid to make fashion and glamor, while half the portraits on my instagram profile they are made in pure collaboration only to be able to tell stories.
