Interview: Photographer Christian Carla (Italy)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Good morning and thank you for the great opportunity.

My name is Christian, born in Lecce in southern Italy but for 20 years I have settled in Padua in northern Italy with his wife and two children.

How and when did you get into photography? I have always been attracted to photography, since I was a child, starting to photograph with own film in my childhood.

With the digital age and with the occasion of my honeymoon, I started shooting again taking a safari in Tanzania

What does photography mean to you?

For me, photography is putting together a series of factors including the emotion of expressing what my eyes see and how I see things my way

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

My style of photography tries to capture moments of pure natural expression.

I don't like to pose the own subject in order not to incur banal.

Where do you get inspiration from? I am very inspired by the photographer Peter Lindbergh, the only photographer who really manages to excite me, in addition to the inspiration contained in my experience.

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture ?

Yes of course, I think well before what I want to achieve photographically, taking care in the selection of the woman portrayed, the Location or the landscape as well as the choice of what she will have to wear.

Studio, on location or both?

I don't like shooting in the studio, I prefer to face my photography with natural light, looking more and more for the sense of reality.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

Both cases, it depends on the project that is proposed to me.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

The most memorable session was several years ago, when I collaborated with an American Celebrity, where I organized a team of different professionals in the sector.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

I have always worked with Canon but in recent years I have also introduced Fuji to my kit.

My favorite lens remains 85 mm.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

The only advice I would like to give is to work a lot on the shots in moments of serious light difficulties, only in this way can you really learn your photographic skills.
