Interview: Photographer Katy Sendza (Slovakia)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I am from Slovakia. I am a young smiling girl having fun taking pictures.

How and when did you get into photography?

When I was a kid, I always used to take my parents' camera and take pictures secretly. Basically, I always took pictures when I put a camera or cell phone in my hands. Over time, I earned my first camera and lens.

What does photography mean to you?

By photography I express my view of the world, colors. Photo reflects my interior. When taking pictures for me, relaxation and fun.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I like simplicity and bold colors.

Where do you get inspiration from?

Life itself is the inspiration :)

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture ?

In most cases I have a well thought out composition.

Studio, on location or both?

I like natural light so I prefer outdoor photography.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

Taking pictures is just my hobby and I won't let myself claim to be a professional.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

There's no way to tell which one was special to me.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

I encounter this speed often. When I was 15 years old I bought my first Nikon camera and since then I have stayed true to this brand. I use the Nikon AF-S 85mm f / 1.8G lens most often.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

To photograph with the heart and not be discouraged by failure.

What do you think of our new magazine?

Modellen Land Magazineis is a very interesting magazine with a good idea. I like that you want to present undiscovered artists. The magazine will make it very elegant and professional.
