Interview: Model Dariana Oleinik (Russia)

Bijgewerkt op: 25 sep. 2020

Can you tell us a little about you?

I’m Russian, but I’ve been living in Europe for 6 years now. I just finished my Master degree in Tourism, and I am now searching for a job. I am creative, and apart from photoshoots, I love to draw and paint, and I also do cool makeup. I also love cats, even though I am allergic to them.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I tend to worry a lot, sometimes that gets in the way. It would be nice to somehow change that or at least become better at managing it.

How did you start modelling?

A photographer contacted me on Instagram, and we did a small photoshoot, I never thought it would go further than that, but now a few years later, I have done several collaborations and I love it! And I’m still friends with that photographer (@vemmelund_ on insta, check him out).

What do you think of the work as a model?

I think it is harder than people tend to think. But it is also very passionate work, and it is sort of addictive, once you start, you just want to do more.

What is your beauty regimen?

In terms of my skincare, I wash my face with cleanser every morning and night, and then put on moisturiser. Occasionally I also use serums, and I love to use face masks.

As for my makeup, I like to go all or nothing, so more often than not you’ll see me with a full face of makeup on. It is the way I express myself creatively, and I would never give it up.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I am highly organised. I plan everything, which my fiancé loves, because I tend to take care of all the events in our lives. I’m also good at managing my time and I very rarely miss deadlines. Apart from that, I would say I am a good friend, and I am good at keeping in contact with friends even when they are far away, which allows me to build long-term friendships.

What are your plans for the future?

I would love to do more modelling – I cannot get enough of it. But also, generally, I am a very family-oriented person, so my ultimate plan is to settle down and take care of my own family.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

My favourite experience has been working with the designer Rosa Faizzad, she makes beautiful dresses. This felt like my first “big” thing, but at the same time the atmosphere was very friendly. I am also very proud of the fact that my pictures are used on her website.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

Say yes to everything (but be safe, of course). Any little shoot will be a good addition to the portfolio, and you gain more contacts this way.

What do you think of the magazine?

It is a great collection of beautiful and talented people, and I think it is wonderful that it takes the time and space to find out a little bit about their personalities as well.
