Interview: Model Carmencita Maduro (Dominicanaaah) (Turkey)

Can you tell us a little about you?

A very happy and hyperactive girl. I love being in nature but I also feel at home in the concrete jungle. In my free time i like to be with friends, watch movies, skin care, and read books. My secret obsession is Harry Potter. And my favorite food is cauliflower and chicken pesto. My cheat day favorite is as much fastfood as my stomach can bare.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I would definitely like to be less stubborn. In my professional life I learned to put it aside. But in my private life it can affect my decision and interactions with people and it can have the opposite effect that I would like sometimes.

How did you start modelling?

I got scouted in a club in Rotterdam. I never imagined myself as a model. But I'm happy I jumped in with both feet, because I wouldn't want to miss this experience.

What do you think of the work as a model?

It's definitely a challenge and certainly not always as glamorous as it seems. It's hard work. You have to stay strong. But the travelling, clothes, people, experience and end result makes it all worth it.

What is your beauty regimen?

Every morning I clean my face, tone my face (with toner) and moisturize. Twice a week face mask, nose mask and eye mask. For my body I use a moisturizing bodyshampoo and afterwards a nice non perfume containing bodylotion. For my hair curl shampoo and conditioner. When I'm not working a hair mask that is for curly hair. Once every 2 weeks I go to a nail salon for a pedicure and manicure.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

My other skills like acting and dancing. Both I have professional experience. Also I have a very energetic and positive behavior on set. Generally people love working with me and therefor I get hired again by the same people.

What are your plans for the future?

I recently got signed for a lead role in a new serie, so that will be my next step. It will be the first time I act with a language in which I'm not fluent.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

Seeing myself for the first time on TV for a commercial. Meeting amazing people all over the world. Getting to wear some of the amazing creations people made.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

Find out what kind of model you want to be and find an agency matching your wishes. Have a lot of passion for your job. Make sure to take care of your physique and mental health.

What do you think of the magazine?

A must read for everybody interested in the model industry. It is very divers and informative for everybody!
