Interview: Model Eleonora Massai (Italy)

Bijgewerkt op: 27 feb. 2021

Can you tell us a little about you?

I’m an italian model, based in Emilia Romagna, who loves shooting around Europe with people coming from all over the world. I was born in Rome but I was grown up in Ravenna, a small city near to the coast. There I attended the primary, the middle and the high school.

Now I’m enrolled in the University of Ferrara and I’m trying to graduate in medicine.

I’m very passionated at foreign languages, singing, make up art and, last but not least, photography.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

Sincerly I wouldn’t change anything about myself. This doesen’t mean that I’m perfect, but I find very important accepting yourself for who you are.

How did you start modelling?

The first time occured just like a game, when I was 19 years. After I took the degree, I decided to give myself a present and booked a photographic session with a well-known professionist who had his studio out of town. He said that my figure worked very good in pictures and this was probably the reason why, a few years after that event, a photographer who lived near Mantua, seeing those pics on facebook, asked me to be his muse for an implied nude shooting. He told me that he was very satisfied about the work we had done together, so he encouraged me to carry on with modeling.

What do you think of the work as a model?

I think this is the best job in the world. It requires waivers and sacrifices, but it’s worth it.

I’ve fallen so deeply in love with modelling that, when I pratice it, I feel like if I’m not really working.

What is your beauty regimen?

Every day I follow a specific diet and skincare routine to be healthy. Four times a week I train myself to the gym and, during every month, I usually undergo beauty treatments to be my best self. Having said that, in my opinion it’s very important to enjoy a “free day” during the week to step out of line, as keeping the body healthy makes no sense without the wellness of the mind.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

My colleagues describe me as expressive and elegant in front of the camera, helpful and patient behind it. My friends tell me that I’m positive and persistent. I can’t complain because a lot of people often have a good word or a good wish for me.

What are your plans for the future?

It would be very nice to accept the invitation of a few colleagues, who live in USA, Japan and Australia, and reach them for a shooting. Besides I have the desire to do modelling in Ucraine and Russia the next year but, do to the plague, that may prove difficult.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

Almost all of my modelling experiences left me a very good memory. Probably the more exciting were the one in Paris and Berlin, as there was big satisfaction in the air and the staff I worked with treated me like a star.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

I would suggest to begin like I did, as a game, and then to evaluate pros and cons of professionalism. Whether this is a life for you, this job could give a lot of joy, but it could be very cruel sometimes, especially with the beginners.

It’s necessary to pay your dues, to have an impeccable care of his own and be careful to the thousand truffles you can easily run into.

Starting with an expert guide by your side is certainly the best way.

What do you think of the magazine?

I think it belongs to a very nice project and that it gave me a fantastic opportunity to introduce myself today. A very special thanks to the editor for this chance.
