Interview: Model Karolina Tomkova (Czech republic)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I´m 23 years young model from Czech republic. I love rock and metal music, crazy outfits and concerts. My most favourite band is Motley Crue. I also like travelling, meeting new people and my favourite hobbies are sport (running, swimming, fitness), my pets (cats and dog) and shopping.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

If I could change anything about myself ... well I think that if there would be something

I would have changed it already. I´m satisfied with my appearance or behavior. But of course I have humility and every day I try to improve myself in all ways. Because there is always something we can improve or do better.

How did you start modelling?

Well I started almost three years ago. I was interested in modeling few years before, but after some failures with fashion modeling agencies in Czech republic I decided to become photomodel and freelancer. I cooperate with photographers in Czech republic and also abroad (for example Germany, Tenerife, Greece...). Now I´m glad for this decision and I really love my work.

What do you think of the work as a model?

More than just one thing. For me modeling is art, way how to express my feeelings, I can travel and meet new people, learn about different cultures. Also I like to create photos, thinking about new ideas, styles, clothings or locations.

What is your beauty regimen?

My beauty regimen is right eating, excersising (because movement for me is the best relax) and of course sleeping, that´s all what I need for enough of energy trough whole day.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I´m a tough girl. I mean when I really want something, I go for it even when the hardest obstacles stay in my way. I work hard every day. I do much of sports, workouts for my body and health and also I do my best in communication with photographers and people I plan to coooperate. While photoshoots I´m very creative, I like to be my own fashion designer, combine different colors, clothes, lingerie...and also different makeup or hairstyles.

What are your plans for the future?

I have so many plans in near future and I hope that after corona travelling restrictions the situation gets better and it will be easier to travel again. I plan new cooperations with photographers from Bali, New York, Greece or Germany. Also I will join summer workshop with Kalliste model agency from Korsika and two workshops in Czech republic.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

The most favourite experience? That´s not easy to choose, because there are many of them. Probably photoshoot in Tenerife. It was great time, totally different places (black beaches, high windy mountains...) and we created awesome photos. I´m glad for this experience.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

Yes, I have. First you have to think about what you wanna be or what is your goal in your career. Then is necessary to built up your portfolio. It´s great to ask some photographers for TFP photoshoot, so you don´t have to pay anything and get the photos. Always when you are searching for a photographer, check their references, experiences of other models he cooperated with and also quality of the photos. With time you will gain experiences and skills in posing, makeup skills, hairstyling..., more photoshoots and you will get paid cooperations.
