Interview: Model Mynte Muse (Denmark)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Dear reader, let me introduce myself; Mynte Muse! I am an 18-years-old model from Scandinavian, more specifically Denmark. My work covers a wide range of genres, such as nude art, fine art (croquis, sculptures, paintings etc.), portraits, fashion, stock photos and a lot more! I had my debut as model when I was 16, and until the summer of 2021, I have been modelling on/off. But! The latest summer, my work has been intensified significant, and now I am shooting every week! I have one year left in college, for which reason I am only shooting in weekends. However, I believe what your heart wants, you will find the necessary time for, and my heart doubtless burns for modelling!

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

Overall, I am deeply satisfied with my whole self-image. I reflect a lot on my personal magnetism, but never put myself down. I try to balance the pure sublime subjects in life with a busy weekday, but not all days are unique and remarkable. I am still learning how to accept the “normal” days. I want a lot of things, but good things take time.

If I could change anything about myself, I would not, but I would give myself a short advice; be uncompromising, have patience, speak clear and if something feels right - do it.

How did you start modelling?

I started modelling in 2019, when I got contacted by a former photo teacher nearby my local town. The photographer wanted to photograph me with his old analogue camera, of which lens was 165 years old! The days went by, and a week past my debut shoot, I received 10 portraits developed in the darkroom. I was overwhelmed with happiness of the result!

A month later he had two 75x105cm portraits of me exhibited at an exhibition on this amazing artist’s 40 years anniversary. I am forever thankful of the opportunities this man has brought me, as a model and human. Afterwards, I got contacted by several photographers, and since then it has developed a lot.

What do you think of the work as a model?

I absolutely adore the work as a model! Nothing can be compared to the freedom of provoking society and shaking the norms in it. When I am modelling it feels like I open the cage and set myself free, especially, as I do not have to worry about the world around me, and for that reason, I am able to live in the moment when I am in front of the camera.

What is your beauty regimen?

My beauty regimen is only built on elements that re-energize me. Getting a peaceful sleep every night, re-energizes me. Going to the gym several times a week (combined cardio and lift-weighting), re-energizes me. Swimming naked in the ocean almost every day, re-energizes me! Having supporting people around me, re-energizes me. If you are mentally stable, you will be able to focus on the details (food, training, sleep etc.). Sunday-Thursday I try being rational in what I eat: a lot of salad, a lot of fish, lamb and so on. In the weekend, I often go out and eat, and when I leave the house, I leave my conscience as well and enjoy a glass (or two) of wine and eat whatever my stomach seeks, because it makes me happy = healthy.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

Photographers often mention my intense gaze as the first thing, when I am in front of the camera. At the same time, I have a very natural innocent smile with straight teeth and apple-cheeks. I can switch from an intense/erotic woman to an innocent girl and back in a few seconds. Those different expressions create an ocean of possibilities.

Bonus: From birth I have been given the title as “the lucky carrier of very elegant and feminine feet”.

What are your plans for the future?

My last year in college is going to be combined with a lot of modelling. I hope to add a lot of experience and great shots to my portfolio in the year ahead. Nevertheless, I could see myself travel around the world as a model at this time next year. Stay tuned and see what happens!

What are some of your favourite experiences so far?

My favourite experiences as a model so far, have been the feedback I have gotten on my work and how a lot of people I do not know support me every day through social media. Also, people I already knew, and got to know as a model, support me. It is an overwhelming experience to know there are people existing in this world, whose only intention is to help and support. Otherwise, I have learned a lot about myself, my boundaries, my signals and how important it is to communicate clear. Things, I will need later in my life no matter the subject.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

Do not hesitate. If you wait too long, you think too much. I follow this quote every time I face a challenge that seems excessive: “No risk, no magic, no story!”

What do you think of the magazine?

Mynte Muse is a huge fan of Modelland Magazine! It is amazing to have free platform, where you can develop yourself, independent of profession; model, photographer, MUA etc. It gives possibilities to a wide target group, whether you are professional or amateur.
