Interview: Model Sephora Schaffner (Switzerland)
What can you tell us about yourself?
I am a woman full of ambitions and sensibilities. Being a photo model is a revenge on my life. I am a watch and jewelry designer. I like to cultivate myself and create my artistic universe. This universe gathers the photo but also the creation of jewelry. Seeing that my universe pleases and speaks to others is a personal achievement. I enjoy to express myself in other arts like dancing, singing, piano, and painting. To live through my art is a quest that I like to go on.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I would be less perfectionist, more patient and more tolerant with myself.
What are your personal qualities that set you apart from others?
Meticulousness, attention to detail, gentleness and the strength I get from my sensitivity. I am a calm woman who observes herself a lot internally, this leads me to find my own answers that can distinguish me.
How did you start modeling?
I started with a friend who wanted to try portrait photography. Together we progressed on Instagram and professional photographers offered me artistic photo shoots.
What are your best experiences so far?
My best experience is to have become the new Aubade lingerie muse for Switzerland! It is a pleasure to wear and represent this beautiful lingerie.
What do you think about your work as a model?
Through my photos I'm looking for beauty, and more specifically the beauty of the body. I think that it's felt. My approach as a model is like academic art. When I was younger, I did academic nude drawing, so I understood the interest and the power of the naked body, which I like to transcribe into photos. Through photography I express values to whoever is ready to receive them.
How do you see beauty?
Beauty is the harmony of body and mind. In photography this is translated by the harmony of the model's physique, what she expresses and the atmosphere of the photo.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans are to grow my universe in photography, to refine what I want to transmit, and thus to be able to represent brands that I admire through who I am.
Do you have any advice for people who would like to start in this field?
My advice is to be aware of and trust your natural charm. Having charisma in this business is important and to have it you have to be yourself and aligned with the image you give.
What do you think of the magazine "Modellenland" ?
The models and photographers that you choose to put forward are all qualitative and inspiring! I also love the name "Modellenland" which made me want to be part of it!
