Interview: Model Veronica (Italy)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Hello! I am Veronica, I am 30 and I am from Turin. My life is divided between photography and painting, I have studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and at the moment I teach in several painting workshops. My studies brought me closer to photography, I learned how to use the camera, but I prefer to be in front of the lens rather than behind it. It's like having two parallel lives, in one I am a teacher who spends her days with colored hands, her hair tied up and eyeglasses. Then I take off my glasses and find myself on the set, expressing a part of me that I did not know. I live with my cat "Brioche" and I have a blog called "I see in Colors, The art of discomfort" where I tell my daily adventures. In the last few years in particular, I feel like I am living in a sitcom.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I would like to be more sure about myself, modeling has helped me a lot in this, but despite everything, my insecurity haunts me. I take a long time to make decisions, I am always afraid of doing the wrong thing, I would like to be less reflective, I am sure that I would live everything more peacefully.

How did you start modelling?

I had saw the wonderful photos of cover models, I also wanted to know what it was like to be the center of attention. With the support of the person next to me, seven years ago I posed with a photographer for the first time, for a while I shot only with him. Only a few years later I started to pose seriously, in a more constant way, traveling more and more often to Milan. I started to make myself known, I found myself in the center of attention, and I liked it!

What do you think of the work as a model?

This work is something that I have been always fascinated from, I consider it an art form, a way of expressing myself. I know it will not last forever, so I continue to dedicate myself to something else, but as long as possible, I want to continue being part of this world.

What is your beauty regimen?

I do not go to the gym, I am a little lazy, and I find it boring, I do pilates at home, a few exercises every day. I have a low fat diet because I have a weak stomach, but this helps me keep fit. I like to buy face creams and take care of my skin with the strangest ingredients.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

People constantly tell me I am funny. So I think I am funny. At work I am very professional, but by nature I am a disaster: careless, clumsy, I drop anything. I happen to completely abstract myself and if someone talks to me while I am in my world, I do not notice it.

What are your plans for the future?

The future is always uncertain, and in this particularly difficult period it seems impossible to say what will happen. I certainly want to continue to devote myself to photography and painting, and as soon as possible, resume my workshops with my students.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

My favorite experiences are those that led me to travel, with work I had the opportunity to go to Rome, I had long dreamed of visiting it and I fell in love with it. Between one service and another I went to discover the city which is immense, in fact later I returned several times to be just a tourist.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

My advice is to try, selecting the most reliable people to collaborate with, always paying close attention to avoid having unpleasant situations.

What do you think of the magazine?

The magazine is very interesting, it offers beautiful images, and it is nice that every artist has their own space to express themselves.
