Interview: Photographer Dr. Saroj Narzary (India)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Well professionally i am a well settled dental surgeon who is very much passionate about photography. So you can call me a dentist photographer. Always more interested in photography specially fashion and portraits..

How and when did you get into photography? Back then some 12-13 years back some photography bug had biten me.. I was a macro photgrapher .. Always loves to show 1:1 arthropods pics. Die hard macro photography was my crush back then

What does photography mean to you?

For me from my heart photography means a life which i always wanted to live . It is like an addiction to me . If i dont do these for some days i feel like i am nowhere.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

Well actually i love to shoot macrophotography earlier, but now i am hardcore portrait and portfolio shooter.

Where do you get inspiration from? I usually always get inspired by some portait shooters who use to teach photography in you tube and all..

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?

Yes its always what i plan i shoot that. usually i imagine the post production ready image beforehand i shoot

Studio, on location or both?

While judging my own images i can say i am more into outdoor photography then indoor. i love to overpower the sun. and control the ambience which takes a lot of practice...

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

I would rather consider myself a passionist.. only for my passion i do this. and ofcoz i get paid well too

What has been your most memorable session and why?

Umm... i can say its my worst day. drove a kilometere of 270..for the venue and came back 270 km to home . and found my memory card was corrupted.. lost all the images of that shoot.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Nikon till now.. fav focal length is 85mm .. wish nikon had a1.2 for 85mm

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

I am nobody to advice someone. But i can share my experience to young and new ones that first make your image worhtwhile then talk about price tags. Newbies usually dont observe small small details which actually makes a lot of effect.

What do you think of our new magazine?

This is lovely experience and i am getting it first time. its really motivating for me and like for us. i hope to see future collab with you guys.
