Interview: Photographer Rusiana Tosheva (Belgium)
Can you tell us a little about you?
My name is Rusiana Tosheva. I was born in Bulgaria, but since 2012 I live in Belgium. 1 Can you tell us a little about you?
How and when did you get into photography? As I was missing all my friends and family back in Bulgaria, I needed something to help me accept my new life in Belgium.
What does photography mean to you?
Except from my kids, photography means the world to me. I feel confident, free and adventurous behind the camera.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
I would mostly do newborn, pregnancy, baby and family photography. One of my passions is fine art photography. I love the drama in my photo’s, I love the simplicity and the shadows. I love it when my final work would be compared to a painting.
Where do you get inspiration from? I get inspiration from, movies, paintings, old photographs and art of all kind.
Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?
I always know how I would like the picture to look like.
Studio, on location or both?
Mostly studio.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
I would consider myself a paid hobbyist.
What has been your most memorable session and why?
A pregnancy shoot of a family who was aware of the fact that their child would not be able to make it when it would be born. It was one of the most touching moment of my life.

Canon 5D mark IV24-70mm, f 2,8. 50mm, f 1,2. 70-200mm, f 2,8.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
Dare to learn. Be aware of how light works. Less is more.
