Interview: Model Linda Colleoni (Italy)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Hi! I’m Linda! It’s a pleasure to be here telling you something about me. What can I say? I’m a 25 year old girl who lives in a very small town in Bergamo, a beautiful city near Milan. I have a huge passion for Japan: I practice Karatedo, I study Japanese, I love Japanese food (non only sushi!) and I read books about Japanese culture, history and literature all the time. I also love animals: expetially cats and horses.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

Ehm, that’s a great question! I do love and accept myself now, but it has been a long journey. The only thing I hope for is to deal with my anxiety problems that give me a lot of troubles. It’s hard sometimes.

How did you start modeling?

This is really an interesting story. It all happened by chance. I was 16 and my mother asked me to pick up the photos she made print at our local photo point. The photographer saw me and he asked me if I had never tried before to model and of course I said no. He proposed me to work with him and initially my answer was no. I came back home and told everything to my mother and she was more excited than me! Her enthusiasm convinced me to give it a try so the day after I came back to that photographer and I told him I changed my mind. A week later, we work together and it has been wonderful!

What do you think of the work as a model?

Well, I think that it is an amazing experience to see yourself through someone else’s eyes. It allows you to be more realistic with yourself, it makes you understand that all the wrong things you think to see about yourself are not real or true, it’s just a matter of insecurities! Photography allows you to express and communicate what you have to say, what you have inside of yourself through the lens of the camera (and the photografer).

What is your beauty regimen?

I’m a huge fan of beauty products! During the week I don’t use make up, but when I do, I just use a micellar water to rinse it off. In the moring and before going to sleep I wash my face, then I apply a pure hyaluronic acid serum and a dermatological face lotion as I have sensitive skin. During the weekend, I use face masks and I do a homemade body scrub with sugar and honey.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

My worst and greatest quality is that I’m a very empathic person so it allows me to have a deep knowledge of the people I’m surrounded by. As a consequence, I feel a genuine joy for them when they’re happy, but at the same time I let their own emotion to overwhelm me: their problems become mine, causing me pain and sadness as well.

What are your plans for the future?

What are your plans for the future? I must leave to Japan and live there for a while. I want to experience Tokyio and Okinawa (to practice the true, real karate) on my skin, know and live with the people here and experience Japan at the fullest.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

This summer I did paragliding for the first time and it was amazing! Full of emotions, adrenaline and happiness. I flew next to a buzzard, near the mountains, dragged around by the wind. I felt free and truly in contact with nature. I loved it.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Yes. The only thing I want to say is: be careful. It is sad, but it’s the truth. Be smart, don’t be impatient. Don’t say “yes” to everyone. Thousands of “likes” on social medias doesn’t make him a good and serious artist. Modeling is great, it can lead you to great experiences and knowing great people but also to serious danger or to someone totally incompetent in this field.

What do you think of the magazine?

I think this magazine is dynamic, fresh and with a very good potential who finds and puts spotlights on new artists that deserve to emerge. Good job!
