Interview: Model Martyna Stępska (Poland)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Hello! My name is Martyna, I'm 26 years old. I come from Poland, living in a small

village which is near to Nysa. I work on my daily basis, but in free time, I pose and

photograph a lot. I really like people and get to know their own stories, and also being in new places. I try to enjoy the moment and use it to the maximum. I'm a dreamer who believes in miracles. I love mountains, good music and muscle pain after training. And also... I'm addicted to cinnamon.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I think that I'm critical person- I mean I demand a lot from myself, sometimes I need to stop, otherwise perfectionism could kill real, sensitive side of me. Besides, I'm working on buttocks - but these are changes that can be made over time with a bit of self-control and work.

How did you start modeling?

It was long time ago, I set up my first photoblog with my first photos of my

acquaintances, some views and my self-portraits there. With time, it added meaning to my life. My boyfriend bought me the first camera. Then I started to try. Mainly, I tried to make photos of myself- these were also photos on the photoblog. A certain

photographer found me there and invited me to the session. That's how it all began. I feel in love with the process. Photography showed me a different world, let me fulfill my small dreams and get to know each other differently. It works like this all the time. Each session teaches me something new, fresh, and every person I work with, shows me a different, extraordinary world.

What do you think of the work as a model?

Modeling is not my work. It's just like a break from normal, everyday life. This is the

road to making dreams come true. I love to pose for a session. However, this world is

difficult. It requires a lot of faith in yourself and your abilities, your creativity,

individuality, patience and also hard work. It's important to do your own, no matter what other think about it. You can experience many unpleasantness, but happiness and satisfaction, which remains after a fine session, I think compensate the troubles and give big reward back.

What is your beauty regimen?

I like what is natural. Of course I have a few favorite models which I admire very much. I'm impressed with women who have long, strong hair, eyes full of emotions, feminine shape and have something ethereal. But is there any ideal for me? No. Everyone is beautiful in their individuality and photography role is to bring this beauty out.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

There are several features that I really value in myself. Well, It could be stubbornness and the fact that I don't give up, even when I fall, I get up and go on. I allow myself to make some mistakes because they teach and develop me a lot. It's only important to don't repeat them. I'm an exceptionally modest person who values little things. I think that emotions are my fuel.

What are your plans for the future?

My priority is personal development. I would like to correct my photography workshop

as a model and photographer. I would like to fulfill my dreams, be an inspiration. I love b&w photography but I want to add more colors to people’s life. Who knows, maybe someday I will be able to combine work with passion. I want to create, stop the fleeting moment and capture it in the frame of camera. I plan to set up a family one day, have a child, plant a tree or maybe... the whole forest.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

Hmm... I have few favorites that were groundbreaking in my modeling. But forever I

remember the session with flour, which was my first serious sessions. The author of this pictures is Rainer Nix. This session combined dance - what was my unfulfilled dream with photography. I'm allergic to gluten, but that didn't stop me from making timeless photos. It was unusual adventure. During the process of taking pictures, I was like in a trance. I completely forgot that I was posing. I jumped, threw flour and had fun. I also remember the session with Ania Lignarska, who with only one photo, brought out a lot of emotions, also a session with RafikArts, which helped me discover my sensuality and the session with Piotr Blanke, who inspired me with his unbridled imagination. I would like to say thank to all the photographers with whom I had the pleasure to work with.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

The most important advice: The world belongs to the brave! Don't be afraid to try. Give a chance to your senses and emotion- they will lead you. Be always yourself, don't allow others to kill passion and love to photography. Discover, create, try new things and believe in yourself!

What do you think of the magazine?

I think that magazine is very fresh and full of beautiful inspirations. It is created with

heart and taste. It`s a good place to show the creativity of talented people. It combines professionalism with artistry. It gives young fresh artists a chance to show their work.
