Interview: Model Tess Carmina (Belgium

Can you tell us a little about you?

I am Tess, I live in Brussels and I am an international inked model. I studied Office Management and I am trilingual (Dutch, French & English). I love travelling, exploring nature and getting to know other cultures.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I’d change my self-perception and try to love myself more.

How did you start modeling?

When I was 19 years old, some alternative store asked me if I wanted to do a photo shoot for their new collection of corsets, which I did! After that shoot I got other propositions and gained more experience.

What do you think of the work as a model?

It’s crazy, fun, and it gives you more self-confidence.

What is your beauty regimen?

Nothing extraordinary! But I’d say my bright red hair is always a lot of work, I need to dye it every 3 weeks and use special shampoos & conditioners to keep it that bright. My shower looks like a murder scene. Also, I try to work out a few times a week to keep fit and I try to wear less make-up when I am not shooting or going out.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I never think about myself first, I put my loved ones on n° 1. I am kind and understanding, I will always try to help others.

What are your plans for the future?

Trying to get my modelling career to the next level and I’d love to do a world tour.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

Fashion shows on tattoo conventions are always fun! Few years ago I got to wear a latex outfit which was designed for Christina Aguilera (music video Not Myself Tonight). Felt super sexy on that runway! Also, I got to travel to international tattoo conventions in the UK and Ireland, met some amazing people there.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Try to do as much photo shoots as you can, there are always photographers looking for models to expand their portfolio. That way you can establish yours. Oh and build your social media!
