Interview: Photographer Nadzeya Korabkova (Belarus)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I'm a photographer from Belarus. I have been professionally engaged in photography for about 5 years, but I have been working in this field for a long time.

How and when did you get into photography?

At first I worked as a model, later I got into the studio as a photo-lab operator, but I dreamed of being a retoucher. But the chief didn’t enroll me to the position of retoucher because the lack of experience. Later, Later, I succeded as a retoucher, but in another photo studio. Then I decided to discover new horizons and went to study photographer’s craft.

What does photography mean to you?

Straighway realized that I wanted to work with the beauty photography, I was always attracted by beautiful photos from advertising and magazines.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I shoot beauty most often for make-up artists and hairstyles, as well as ornaments.

Where do you get inspiration from?

I draw inspiration from everywhere, on the Internet, prints, Instagram.

Think you in advance what you want in the picture?

As a rule, I work with a team with whom we always have a predictably good result.

Studio, on location or both?

I work only in studio. I do not like outdoor with natural light, I like to control the conditions myself.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

My work is a hobby that brings income.

What has been the biggest source of inspiration in your work?

The source of inspiration for me are the people who surround me.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

The most unforgettable shooting was the very first one. My hands were shaking and I was very much worried, but the result was unexpectedly good.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

If we talk about the equipment I work with, then I prefer Canon, and my favorite lens is 24-70 mm.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

For beginners I want to say that they do not stop their progress at one point, always learn something new, get out of the comfort zone, only by self developing it’s possible to achieve something.
