Interview: Model Anna Gracheva ( Russia)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Originally, I am from the Far North of Russia, where it is always cold and lots of snow. My whole life I have repeatedly heard questions about my appearance like Do I have Asian ancestors? Am I from Mongolia or Scotland? Do I come from the Oriental countries? Each of the guesses fascinated me. It makes me feel like I have thousand different personalities and that gives me courage and drive for life.

Six years ago I moved from Russia to Germany; now I am enjoying a happy life in Munich. I have just graduated cultural studies and started to study psychology.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

It is quite a difficult question.

Maybe I would be a little less chaotic. I cannot say that I belong to a type of person who, for example, always has their table neat, or has a fixed agenda (it always scared me off a little). Quite the contrary, I like artistic chaos, I like moving structures. There I can organize myself perfectly. However, I would add a little more order to my life, for a change.

How did you start modeling?

Modeling was always my passion. Back in childhood I looked at models and told myself that someday I would do the same thing. But I had no firm plan how I would implement that. This has developed more harmoniously in itself, as if it has to be exactly as it is now. My first shoot was in Saint-Petersburg in Russia. I took that as a test of my earlier childhood dreams. After that I was sure that modeling was exactly what I love.

What do you think of the work as a model?

The best thing is that you can experience your emotions. When you are in a front of a camera, you are in a process of generating emotions and exchanging emotions. You can develop your personality. Most of the time you get to know interesting, creative, artistic people. You get to know yourself better. These are really fascinating things.

What is your beauty regimen?

Hmm ... I love to sleep well, that is really important.

I do not smoke. I do not like fast food. I eat meat and fish a lot. Otherwise, I feel energyless. Actually, I can say that I love my life in all its colors. Maybe it is my beauty regimen.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I love strong emotions, I love drama. This allows me to feel life more intensively: when you are completely involved in life, in a particular situation, so that you do not see anything except it. You focus completely on something and give all your strength and energy for it. Maybe it’s called craziness?

What are your plans for the future?

I would like to develop myself as a person, also in the field of modeling. I intend to try myself in the areas where I have no experience. I would like to travel more, especially in Asia or in The States. That's my plan.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

I cannot say that I have a particular favorite experience. Each experience teaches you and brings something new. I can think of the unpredictable weather in Iceland, where we had a wedding shooting. I always thought that I am a Northern person, who can expect anything from the weather. But the mix of craters, sun, rain, wind and snow in a summer day exceeds all expectations and makes the experience unforgettable. The modeling is one of experiences in my life, that I can call my favorite.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Be patient and authentic!

Do not take seriously anything that might not work. After all, life is a game. Then why not play a little?

What do you think of the magazine?

Modellenland has its own spirit. It makes you feel a part of the community. You get to know people, that have similar interests as you, you read their stories, you look at their works and it inspires you. This magazine is the great idea! I am thankful for the chance to tell about myself in the Modellenland.
