Interview: Photographer Natalia Dentelle (Poland)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I’m Natalia Dentelle from Poland and I’m 27. I’m a fashion and graphic designe, but my big love is a photography. I’m trying to combine all these issues in my works. I’m intrigued by natue, colors and abstraction. My main inspiration are my dreams and twisted reality in my mind. I just love to have nightmares!

How and when did you get into photography?

I started to be in a photography world when I was 13, but the photography was present in my whole life. My family is an artistic group, so it is in my veins. Every kind of visual arts was my companion.

What does photography mean to you?

Photography is my thought. When I don’t do this, I’m thoughtless.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

It’s like fashion but behind the mirror.

Where do you get inspiration from?

My inspiration comes from my deep nightmares. I’m always smaller than characters from my dreams. That’s scarring but cool.

Think you in advance what you want in the picture?

No! No! No! It is always different than my project.

Studio, on location or both?

Location definitely.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

I prefer to be a free spirit – do what you want!

What has been your most memorable session and why?

It’s a difficult question, because I remember every session in the same way. I know it’s weird but I think I like creating abstract from each meeting and hide them to bottles which have the same sizes.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Canon. Every wide – angled lens.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

Dude, do what you want! Don’t expect people would like to pay you for your hobby – then they pay.
