Interview: Model Victoria Schrötter (Austria)

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Victoria Schrötter and I am a 19-year-old from Austria. Currently, I am studying English and History at University in Salzburg. When I was 15 years old I started modeling and immediately fell in love with it.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

Since I am very passionate about everything I do, I sometimes tend to be very self-critical. I just want every picture to look perfect.

How did you start modeling?

When I was 15 a friend of my mother, who is a designer, asked me to participate in a casting for a fashion show. I thought that I had nearly no chance of making it into the show, however, I still wanted to try it out. One week after the casting I got the call that I had actually made it. It was a great experience and from that moment on I fell in love with modeling.

What do you think of the work as a model?

Sometimes the industry can be very hard on oneself. You have to remind yourself that when you are not chosen for a job it only means that you did not have the right look for it. That it has nothing to do with your personality or the person you are. Never forget what you are worth and that your health comes first!

What is your beauty regimen?

Definitely a lot of sleep. If your body does not get enough rest it will definitely show. Sleep is not only important for your body, but also for your mental health. And a healthy body and mind lead to a happy life.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I am a very happy and positive person. I love to make others laugh and I always have a lot of fun on set. Moreover, I am very organized and professional and pay attention to the suggestions others make so that at the end of the day everybody is satisfied with the result.

What are your plans for the future?

I plan on getting my University degree and maybe spending a year abroad to perfect my English skills. Moreover, I want to continue modeling and I am excited to see what else life brings.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

I really enjoyed shooting with the football star Mario Götze for the European Football Championship. The whole day was a lot of fun and the crew was amazing. Also, travelling to different cities for shootings and jobs is always exciting. I am very grateful to be able to experience so many fantastic things, thanks to modeling.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Believe in yourself! If you set your mind on something you are able to do it. Don’t be scared about things you don’t know or have never experienced. Try out new things and let nobody stop you from fulfilling your dreams.

What do you think of the magazine?

In my opinion, it is amazing that this magazine gives people of different professions the opportunity to talk about their experiences and share their advice with others and I am honored to be part of it.
