Interview: Photographer Vitaly Shokhan (Belarus)

How and when did you get into photography?

I have been engaged in photography and various creative activities since childhood. He started with a film photo, he developed films and printed the first photos in a dark room with a red light :)

What does photography mean to you? The muse for me is the desire to somehow show my abilities and achieve what I can achieve. And the muse for me will be every person who finds something for himself in my work) Those who value themselves as a person, respect themselves - they will never care who will be their photographer. I would not share idols in the nude genre or in some other genre. If someone likes the artist, then they like his work as a whole, and not just how he draws, let's say circles ... :)

Where do you get inspiration from? I like to discover something new in people, first of all for themselves. I love sincere emotions.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers In my work I consider it important to be original, non-standard, creative and constantly strive for something more. I love working with people. I prefer the genre of portrait photography, nudity, sensual portrait, boudoir, etc.

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture ?

Of course, in every shoot I always think ahead of time what will be in the frame, what the result will be. And how this result can be achieved.

Studio, on location or both?

I work both in studios and in locations. I love natural light, which emphasizes the naturalness and naturalness of female beauty.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

I do not set a goal to make money with photography, although this, of course, is very nice :) I like the creative process, I like to create something new, I like to reveal to people their inner world, to show their beauty.

What has been your most memorable session and why? Oh, there were a lot of memorable shots, we can assume that almost every shoot is something unique and memorable :) A huge amount of emotions, for example, was caused by shooting at a pedestrian crossing in the city, when a beautiful, effective, barefoot girl, like a ballerina, flew over the hoods of standing cars in twine :)

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

I shoot Nikon on the camera, I like the ergonomics and convenience of these cameras. Well, my favorite lenses are any portrait lenses :)

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

I would advise novice photographers to never lose inspiration, constantly strive for the best, never stop there. Develop and enjoy the process of creativity. :)
