Interview: Model Margherita Prokina (Italy)

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Margherita Prokina, now I live in Italy, Turin but I’m of Russian origin, to be precise, I’m from Siberia, Novosibirsk. I studied in music college and theater academy. At the same time I was already doing some shooting like a model. So I’m a model for 5 years.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

It would be to have more patience because very often I want everything and immediately when it would be better not to hurry and wait.

How did you start modeling?

I never thought of being a model, I wanted to be an actress. But 5 years ago one my friend asked me to do a shooting in his studio. And I liked it because for me it was like a small role, like a possibility where I can transmit my emotions and communicate with the spectators.

What do you think of the work as a model?

I think in reality it’s not so easy like usually people imagine it to be. It's not just just taking pictures, it can be hard work because the conditions, the weather can be different, the positions can be uncomfortable, but you must always be ready even if it is cold or there is a very hot sun. And all this not for an hour but until the photographer makes the beautiful photo that sometimes can continue the whole day.

What is your beauty regimen?

There are three main things: sleep, healthy eating and sport. I know that getting enough sleep helps me better than any beauty cream. Nutrition also affects beauty and health. And do sport can also cheer you up.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I think it's the responsibility. The desire to do the job in the best way, otherwise I prefer not to do it. Another quality is always learn new things, discover new places.

What are your plans for the future?

I would like to realize a childhood dream e make a movie. And not only like the actress but also as a director. Of course continue to make artistic projects of the photo and do my personal exhibition.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

Because I studied in college music I love to sing. Before I often participated in concerts and now I miss this experience. So sometimes I sing for friends, we do musical evenings. Because I like to communicate with people through music, through art. This is my positive energy charge which is vital to me.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

If you want to become the model you have to understand that it is a job that seems easy but in reality it is hard. You can go to a model school but you must not forget to always be yourself. Do not copy the girls social network but look at the work of Supermodel. Analyzes their poses, attitude, idea and then apply this for your shooting but remember that you are unique. And maybe this advice will be strange but you have to read good books, watch great films, visit exhibitions. For not to be a beautiful doll but your eyes must transmit your thoughts and ideas then your pictures will attract people's views and should not be forgotten in five minutes.
