Interview: Photographer Sławomir Napierała (Poland)
Can you tell us a little about you?
My name is Sławomir Napierała, I come from Poland, I have been taking photographs for 10 years.
How and when did you get into photography? I was interested in photography as a teenager. However, I was more professional about it only a dozen years later. I regret that it was so late in my life.
What does photography mean to you?
For me, photography is an artistic fulfillment of myself.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
My style? I try to show women in a very sensual way, sometimes a little provocative, but with a good taste.
Where do you get inspiration from? Every day I browse through hundreds of photos on different portals. I have my favorite creators, whose photos I observe whenever they have something new.
Do you think in advance what you want in the picture ?
Yes, I have a ready-made idea for each session, but it is only during the work that we work out the details. Sometimes the place forces us to change our plans. Especially when we work outdoors.
Studio, on location or both?
I prefer outdoor activities because there are more opportunities to prove myself, but of course I also work in studios or rented apartments.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
I think I'm a more hobby photographer. Of course I do a lot of paid sessions, but I only take orders that I find interesting. So it happens that I refuse. So I do only what I like. :)
What has been your most memorable session and why?
Session for the Cancer Foundation. It was a difficult session for me and for the models. I think I remember this session the most and I am very proud of it.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?
Nikon d800, I'm 8 years old, but I still like him very much. Lens: Tamro 24-70 f2.8, Sigma 35 1.4, Nikkor 50 1.4, Sigma 85 1.4 . That's all.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
View a lot of pictures. Look for an idea for your sessions, do not copy others
What do you think of our new magazine?
I'm glad you've spotted me. This is a magazine with a really high level of quality.
