Interview: Photographer Cosimo Ricci Sorce (Italy)
Can you tell us a little about you?
I was born in Florence in 1984 by a mother with English origins and a father with Sicilian origins.
I live in Italy but the world is my home, I love traveling and even extreme sports with my friends, my second family.
How and when did you get into photography? Thanks to my father, when I was a kid around the world I approached the world of photography, they were the last years of analogue! From there I never stopped wanting to learn this wonderful form of art.
What does photography mean to you?
All, is my life! I always have a camera with me!
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
My photography wants to get closer to what was Peter's Lindbergh style, in photographing the models in all their naturalness and beauty, obviously all in black and white.
Where do you get inspiration from? My model / teacher was Peter Lindbergh, I followed everything about him, an incredible artist and man! "black and white is synonymous with truth" Peter Lindbergh
Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?
Absolutely yes, this is essential to do a good job! Display the photo you want to run in the head!
Studio, on location or both?
Oh difficult question! both yes, but maybe I prefer studying!
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
Yes! A paid professional..
What has been your most memorable session and why?
There are so many of these .. there have been people or significant moments in my life as a photographer.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?
This is easy! Nikon, for Life. My father taught me with a Nikon F3. Lens: 58mm 1.4f N.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
Do not give up! try to learn from those who are better than you with respect! and then create your own style and go !!!!!
