Interview: Cover Girl Alena Gavrilyuk (Russia)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Hey! Im Alena and I’m 25 years old. Here is my story:)

I’m just an usual girl from small town in the mountains in Russia. My dad is a welder and mom is a teacher. I was dreaming about model carrier since I was 5 y.o. but in my hometown this dream was to far away for be true. I understood it clearly and decided to move to big city. I pass all schools exam to high mark and got education grand from government for free. I moved to Saint-Petersburg (the most beautiful city in Russia) and started to study International economic. It seemed so boring to me so I never worked by my degree.

I started to do modeling and it was my lucky chance. For now I have been almost in 25 countries! I worked hard for 5 years in Fashion Weeks all around the world and now got tired little bit, saved money and moved to Bali.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I would love don’t have fears. Sometimes I feel like I’m worry to much about things which doesn’t really matter.

How did you start modeling?

I always loved to make photos but modeling happened with me unexpectedly. I was noted by vietnamese designer on the beach in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Lazy day, just chilling on the beach with coconut... She came and ask me if I do modeling. I said not. At that moment I was living with my ex in Vietnam for half year and didn’t have any job. The designer asked me if I can do favor for her and be face of her brand. I had zero experience but huge desire and promised her to be in photo studio next morning. She felt in love with photos and told about me to her friends. Everybody wanted to hire me after this shoot...I started to work like a model full time. In Vietnam Fashion week European model agency from Malta noticed me and I singed up my first model contract to Shanghai.

What do you think of the work as a model?

Model work...it’s complicated. It’s just look super easy to do but for sure it’s not the truth. We work surround beauty and we put all our energy and soul to it. The main point - to be passion with you job. Because if you passion you are don’t care about 10 hours on hills or something like this. You just play a role and do your best.

What is your beauty regimen?

I’m vegan, don’t smoke, don’t drink any alcohol and sleep not less then 8 hours. Sport, yoga, meditation also important to me.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I’m so flexible. I know how to communicate with people. I can find a way to speak with everybody. And the most important things for me - it’s keep harmony inside and out.

What are your plans for the future?

Now I’m working for my own project. I have a production company with my friend. We organize photo and video shootings for foreign brands in Bali. I plan to put my project to the level up, get married, have big family and continue to do what I’m doing now. And open a boutique with elegant dresses :)

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

I adore my shootings in Bali. Really nice one! The most beautiful shoot I had 2 years ago for Australian brand of swim suits. We had shoot in black sand beach, with amazing rocks and ocean view. Those photos are still my favorite.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

I can give a small advices for any one who can become a model: first of all, don’t compare yourself with somebody else. All of us different and it’s awesome! Don’t copy a style. Make our own! At second, don’t go by sneaky way. Model - it’s model. Not party girl, not beautiful lady who has dinner with a rich man who pay her for that. Don’t mix it. At third, look at you objectively . If you are 155 sm tall or really hard shape keeper, probably you will find yourself in different area?

What do you think of the magazine?

I think it’s amazing! You let a lot of models speak, not just looking good. Thank you for let us share with you some amazing moments and fears, it’s important! I wish your magazine have all best and good luck with any new upcoming projects!
