Interview: Model Anato (Romania)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I’m a 24 years old model living in Bucharest and traveling all over the world for work and fun. I consider myself a creative person and photography is the best way I can express my creativity and love for art. I m a model but I’m also a photographer and writer.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I’m totally happy with myself. Maybe I would add some more patience with people and situations but I am already working on that.

How did you start modeling?

I started modelling since I was 16, but it was a hobby at first. After years of photoshoots for fun, I started to get jobs, then an agency contacted me for commercial work and then I started to shoot nudes. Now nude modelling is my main niche, but I also do commercial shoots sometimes.

What do you think of the work as a model?

First of all, I do not consider myself a model in the pure meaning of the word. When you say model you usually think about catwalks, fashion shows, very skinny body and commercial face. I am not that. I consider myself an artist who is more than the nice face or body in a picture. I am an artist who brings her own perspective about art at shootings. Because I’m a freelancer, I decide together with the photographer or the team when, where, who I work with, what is the concept, what make up or accessories I wear, how I pose, sometimes I even choose the pictures and sometimes I even edit them if I’m allowed. Yes, I’m totally free and that is the most satisfying part of this job! I traveled to 30 countries all over the world so far as a model and this is amazing, because I choose how much time I work and how much time I’m a tourist.

What is your beauty regimen?

The hardest thing of this job is to keep my body fit, in shape, eat, train, sleep correctly to have the best appearance. I try to do all these things, in balance, I invest a lot in high quality care products, personal trainer, healthy food, massage, but also in my mental health (because feeling beautiful starts in your mind). I’m a big fan of nature and natural things so I try to stay away from unhealthy habits or products.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I always like to do things differently than others. I try to reinvent myself all the time, which always leads to progress in my opinion. I like to challenge myself to be always better and unique. I’m very good at introspection and that helps me understand myself and others in order to create the best connection. I communicate a lot, I follow my instinct and I always think before acting or speaking.

What are your plans for the future?

I will continue modelling as long as my body will allow me and I will feel happy doing this, and after that I want to be a mother and work either in tourism or psychology. I also want to stay in the artistic area part time, maybe as a photographer or as a creative director.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

The best experiences I have ever had in my life are actually moments when I realised how lucky I was to be alive, beautiful, to be in that amazing place at that amazing time, or moments when I felt so lucky to be with amazing people from other corners of the world, sharing the same love for art, dancing, smelling the ocean or crying on a song. We don’t actually need much to be happy, we just need to open our eyes and become more present.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

Don’t be just beautiful.

What do you think of the magazine?

It’s a great opportunity to “read” behind the photos, because what people think we are and what we actually are is a totally different story. Thank you a lot for this opportunity.
