Interview: Model Andreea Nebunu (Romania)
Can you tell us a little about you?
I am Andreea and I am 22 years old. I live in Bucharest, Romania. I am working as a model but I’m working in fashion industry too; as I worked more and more as a model I realized that this is what I want to do, even though I graduated an university where I studied politics, history and human rights. I said to myself that I want to become someone in fashion and I started to study and work in fashion design.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I don’t know if I would change something about me because I like the way I am and the way I look. Time to time I think that I’d like to be stronger and more patient.
How did you start modelling?
I started modelling when I moved to Bucharest, I was discovered by a famous agency, and I started my career with them and learned about modelling. My career grew up a lot in this industry; I had the opportunity to work with numerous talented and famous designers as: Studio Cabal (which is my favourite fashion brand), Atelier Danessa (jewellery brand), Tria Alfa (jewellery brand), Meekee (shoes brand) Musette (shoes and purses brand), Depo 96 (fashion brand), George Hojbota (fashion designer), Renee Design (fashion designer), Catalin Botezatu (fashion designer), Eli Laslean (fashion designer), Agnes Toma (fashion designer) , Elena Perseil (fashion designer) and I participated in many fashion shows like Soirees de la Mode, Avanpremiere, Romanian Fashion Philosophy, Bucharest Fashion Week, Bucharest Charity Fashion Show, Sibiu Fashion Days, Inedithe Fashion Show, etc.
What do you think of the work as a model?
Sometimes is very hard to stay 12 hours or more on high heels, but I love what I do, and when you love it you do it with all your heart. Working as a model you have a lot of opportunities, you can travel a lot, you can work for big brands or famous photographers, you can be published in a lot of magazines, all this things are very fulfilling experiences for your career and for life. But you need to work hard for all this things, because modelling is not as easy as many would think.
What is your beauty regimen?
I am very lucky with my body because my metabolism is very fast and I can eat whatever I want, but I try to eat healthy and work out very often. And about my skin and hair I have some routines that I follow for good results.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?
I think each one is special in their way, we are not the same. I try to be a good person and improve myself every day. I am very determinated, sociable, ambitious and creative.
What are your plans for the future?
I have a lot of future plans; I want to continue my model career because it’s part of me, as long as I can do it. I want to travel around the world; I have a list with places, cities and countries I want to visit. And also I want to develop my fashion designer career. In this moment I work for a brand, but in the future I want to create my own label. I work hard every day for my future, I try to learn a lot of new things that can help me with my plans.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far?
All my projects were amazing experiences. I had the chance to meet some wonderful people that I still keep in touch with and I had great work experiences. Most of the time I had a lot of fun in the backstage of fashion shows or at photo shootings because I usually work with certain persons for more than one time; actually, we became friends and hang out outside work. I think one of my favourite experience was when I saw myself on the pages of a famous magazine from New York, Ellements Magazine.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?
First of all, you need to know that is a career full of challenges that can overwhelm you sometimes, you need to prepare yourself for hard working days but also extraordinary experiences. You also need to know that if someone tells you that you don’t fit in this industry it doesn’t mean you do not, you need to continue to give the best of you because others can have another opinion. Believe in yourself and do what you love.
What do you think of the magazine?
It is a great place to find a lot of artists, creativity and inspiration. I really love that the magazine is celebrating art, fashion, beauty and creativity. Thanks to you, a lot of talented people have the opportunity to be promoted and to be an inspiration for others. I am very happy for this opportunity to be published. Great job!
