Interview: Photographer Daniele Accorsi (Italy)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I'm italian,born 1965, 20 years in the business. I studied photography in Rome at istitutto europeo di design in a 3 years course. Then work as an assistant photographer. I like trekking , reading, music and meeting people.

How and when did you get into photography?

I got into photography when i lived in london. I went to an exibiti9on and got absolutelu chaught by the images . Ah, the photographer was rankin, pure genius.

What does photography mean to you?

Photography to me means fun, work , letting your creativity run free, develop ideas. In other work life..

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

My particular style is not to have a style. I go from portrait to nude, from landscape to fashion, from phantasy to conceptual. My photography is a 360 degrres business

ispiration cames from everything, from nature to books, from videoclip to people.

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture ?

I usually work in 2 different ways.Sometimes i know exactly what i want and the result, going to the point to even make a sort of storyboard of the shooting an the mood. Other times i just let my ispiration run frrìee, start to shoot and follow my and models moment?s inspiration an mood.

Studio, on location or both?

I prefer working on location and if possible shoot in natural light but i also do studio work.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

I'm a paid professional.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

The most memorable session was one with a model on a hilltop in deep winter with blowing freezing wind and a bit of snow. It only lasted half an hour but wasthe most memorable and the result is one of my favourite oiscture. You can see it published here, guess wich one is.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Definitely Nikon, favourite lens is a 50mm F 1.2

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start

their own business?

Study, study and study, get inspiration from everything and develop your own style. Ah and always practice , perseverate and never give up even if you get discouragede sometimes.
