Interview: Model Ioana Ciocălău (Romania)
Can you tell us a little about you?
Hello! My name is Ioana, I am 18 years old, I am in high school and I also work as a model in Romania. I love to read, to take long walks in nature and to travel.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I don't think I would necessarily want to change something about myself, since being who I am has brought me a lot of amazing opportunities and connections with others. However, I would sometimes like to be less perfectionist and just do it. To allow myself to just start and to not be held back by the fear of it not turning out perfectly.
How did you start modelling?
Starting modelling was never something I saw coming, a modelling agency has found me and proposed to me to begin, to then realise my passion for this field. I strongly believe I was at the right place at the right time and it was meant to be.
What do you think of the work as a model?
Modelling and fashion are art, and there is so much beauty and authenticity in it. So many new things to discover, a lot of fun projects. I couldn't imagine myself not being part of this industry.
What is your beauty regimen?
It truly fluctuates and I try not force myself to fit into a complicated routine. Trying to find balance and aim for a healthy lifestyle, a lot of movement, hydration, vitamins, meditation, a simple yet solid skincare routine will do the trick for me.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?
I consider myself to be a very empathetic person, with a lot of love for others. I am surely into art and creation, and with that comes a lot of creativity and interesting ideas.
What are your plans for the future?
I am hoping for a lot of exciting modelling projects. I would absolutely adore to travel the world and meet new people, to learn their cultures and lifestyles. I am planning to go to university and keep my artistic side alive, to continue writing and creating.
What are some of your favourite experiences so far?
My favourite experiences and happy moments usually have to do with the places I have travelled to and my modelling successes. Nothing is better than spending summer in a tropical place and enjoying the areas around you.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?
Confidence is the key ingredient in modelling, as well as in real life. Learning to find your personal style that makes you feel the best, building trust in yourself by keeping discipline in the promises you have made to yourself will surely turn you into a more confident person. Another thing I suggest is staying open, adaptable to new situations, sociable and ready for action.
What do you think of the magazine?
I love to see people who are actually interested in fashion and finding new models to promote because I think everyone deserves a chance and there is a place in the universe for each of us. The magazine looks very professional and I like to read the interviews with other models around the globe.
