Interview: Model Jasmin Terry (Panama City, Florida (USA)
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Yes! I’ve been modeling since I was 12. I’ve been singing since I was 4. Acting for only a short period, since i’ve been attending acting classes through Barbizon Modeling & Acting classes/agency. I’ve also been dancing for a little over a month. I’m taking dance classes as well. But, I can do all of it!
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I would change my eyebrows! I’d make them higher on my face; I feel like they’re too low, and they make me look mad. People tell me all the time that I look mad. I have an RBF. ( resting b*tch face ) .
How did You Start Modeling?
I started by shooting with one photographer at a time. Then, soon enough I was joined into this clothing company called ‘ Raw Talent Clothing Company ‘. They added me on their magazine, but that was when I was 14, and the photos weren’t the greatest at the time. Then, I went from there!
What Do You Think Of The Work As A Model?
As a model, I feel as if I have a job. Not only to put myself out there, make myself noticeable and receive recognition from it, but to also be a good influencer/role model for those that also want to be in the industry and strive for their goals as well. The Work Of a Model I feel like is not just about putting yourself out there. I think it also has to do with helping others out to, and making the most of it.
What Is Your Beauty Regimen?
My beauty regimen is always in the state of keeping myself healthy, and away from things that are bad for me. I’ve been vegetarian for two years; I watch what I eat 95% of the time. I have a whole skincare routine as well to keep healthy skin because i’m obsessed with a healthy look! My skin is super dry, sensitive and stiff most of the time if i don’t apply some sort of moisture. If you have this problem too, I can give recommendations! My whole skincare routine consists of using two cleansers ( Cera Ve Hydrating Cleanser & Ponds Moisturizing Cleanser ) along with two moisturizers ( Morning/Night Cera Ve Moisturizer ) . After, I apply Retin-A. Keep in mind that I have been using Retin-A for three months now. It doesn’t work right away!! Sometimes it can get worse before it gets better. After Retin-A, I apply Mederma ( which is another kind of moisturizer, but it’s a quick-dry oil. ) but, only around my mouth! Then, I add Mupirocin only to infected areas. At the end of all that, I take a prescribed medication for my face that i’ve heard is a weaker version of Acutane. I take Minocycline. And, it works !
What Are Your Personal Qualities which Distinguish You From Others?
I think i’m a real, genuine, down to earth, charismatic person. Not just because of my own judgment based on what I’ve seen. It’s others opinions that I’ve taken in as well, and come to realizations with. I’m brutally honest. I live by nothing but truth. You don’t find that in many people, because they’d rather be comforted by a lie than their truth.
What are your plans for the Future?
I plan to fulfill my dreams of singing, acting, dancing and modeling. I’m never giving up on any of them! I want to sing around the world, I want to play in the biggest movies yet, I want to dance on stage, and model for anyone that wants me to. I want to be able to say I can do it all, because I can.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far?
One of my favorites would have to be when I received my first ever paper based magazine at just 14. Another is meeting new models/photographers through this industry and becoming great friends with them. I’ve learned so much with new people within just five years!
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
I do! Always be prepared when it comes to working in the modeling world. They want to see preparation, confidence and ability to pose. You can be absolutely gorgeous, but can you pose? If you can’t, learn how! Every photographer is different. They all expect something different out of you. It’s not the end of the world if one doesn’t like you. I’ve had experience with that, but I know things happen for a reason. Find your happy place. Know that modeling can be one thing to look forward to, but also keep in mind that if it doesn’t work out, you’re still going to be that happy person that knows it’s not the end, it’s just the beginning.
What Do you think of the Magazine?
I think it’s super cool!!! It has a lot of detail, and I see a lot of time has been taken into creating this. I’d love to be the cover of it some day. The cover says it all!!
