Interview: Model Kristina Novikov (Germany)
Can you tell us a little about you?
My name is Kristina, I’m 24 years old and was born in Moscow, Russia but I live in Germany for about 20 years now. I am a professional Make-Up artist and model.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? To be honest, I would change nothing about myself. Everyone is beautiful in his/her own way and should love themselves the way they are! How did you start modelling? I started working as a Make-Up Artist a few years ago when a Model got sick before a photoshoot. So The photographer eventually asked me if I wanted to step in for her and be the model for this photoshoot! I said yes and found out how much I actually love standing in front of the camera that I immediately started modeling myself short after. What do you think of the work as a model? I think it’s a great way to express yourself and your feelings in photos. It’s something I love doing and something that makes me feel proud, especially when I eventually see the results of a photoshoot. What is your beauty regimen? I think feeling good in your skin and doing whatever makes you happy is the best beauty regimen! The happier you are, the better you look. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I think that everyone is special and unique in his/her own way. I am confident and can be very versatile: whether it’s elegant, sexy, shy, sweet, sophisticated, angry, sad or something else - I can slip into different roles very fast. What are your plans for the future? I still love my job as a makeup Artist. But working as a professional model all around the world, especially since I love traveling, would be amazing! What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Since I have started modeling I have met so many amazing people. A lot of friends and my current boyfriend (who is also a photographer) too. I’m so incredibly happy that we met and I absolutely love working with him! It made me more confident aswell. I used to be very shy and sometimes I was not feeling pretty at all. Seeing the results of your first photoshoot gives you an extra confidence-boost and it gets better and better every time. But the greatest thing about modeling is showing the photos to my parents and my family and noticing how much they love my work and how proud they are of me! It’s an amazing feeling and makes me incredibly happy. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? Make sure you feel good and comfortable because it automatically makes you look more confident! Wear a makeup look you think looks good on you, wear clothes that make you feel feminine, beautiful, sexy or elegant. Try out your favorite hairstyle. Look at some inspirational pictures with cool makeup looks, photo ideas or poses that you like. Listen to your favourite music before the photoshoot. Take your friend, boyfriend or another loved person who makes you feel comfortable with you. Whatever makes you feel good! You will glow from within and look even prettier. What do you think of the magazine? It looks great. I’ve seen a lot of high-quality photos in there and I’m proud to be featured in such an interesting and amazing magazine!
