Interview: Model Lucky (Netherlands)

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Lucky, I am 23 years of age and I live in the Netherlands. During my studies I’ve lived in Madrid en Valencia and I’m very passionate about travelling and getting to know different cultures and new people.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I would like to be less of a control freak.

How did you start modelling?

I did my first shoot when I was 18, I’ve felt so uncomfortable that I never wanted to be in front of the camera again. Then a year later when I was living in Spain I got approached by an agency but I ended up not taking the opportunity as I was doing a full time internship for my studies. A year after that I was approached through Instagram a shoot for a sports brand in Spain, it was so much fun and I regained the confidence to develop myself more in this field.

What do you think of the work as a model?

I love it, the diversity of it, the different teams you get to work with and all the lovely people you get to meet. Also a look behind the scenes of different brands and productions is really inspiring and interesting.

What is your beauty regimen?

Most skincare products I use are from Paula’s Choice, I love their exfoliant. But the most important way for me is to keep up good health, drink enough water, work out frequently and get enough sleep.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

Strong personal qualities I have, I wouldn’t say really distinguishing as most people have wonderful or even stronger traits. I’m intrinsically motivated, I keep my word always, I communicate clearly and I’m always up for an adventure.

What are your plans for the future?

In the future, once the world allows it, I would love to travel again and live somewhere abroad. Gain new experiences and step out of my comfortzone even more.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

My absolute favourite experience has been earlier this year in Bali. A photographer approached me through Instagram and asked if I would like to shoot with him. Later that week he and his wife picked me up and we drove to this unique location called ‘Secret Bay’ where one of the first things we saw was a Komodo (or just a huuuuuge lizzard) running across the beach. We then had to go through bushes, climb down rocks and pass through a cave full of bats to reach the beach. But the view was breath taking, it even rained during the shoot but the location was so gorgeous that it didn’t matter and we kept going.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

Just do it! Maximise your unique traits, believe in yourself.

What do you think of the magazine?

I hadn’t heard of it before but I think it is a great initiative!
