Interview: Model Nancy Shvab (Russia)

Can you tell us a little about you? I am a visual person who grew up in a creative environment. I remember that in early childhood my grandmother, a choreographer, dressed me up in bright folk costumes and took pictures. In my school years, between dance and theater classes, I had photo sessions with professional photographers. Coming up with a theme, thinking over an image, choosing an entourage - this creative process made me really happy. Later I took up the camera myself: I am interested in everything on both sides of the camera. I discovered videography on my own, and recently picked up paints. Drawing, like yoga, helps me to relax. Chess, on the other hand, keeps my brain in good shape. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? Nothing. I accept and love myself the way I am. So I wouldn’t change a thing about myself. How did you start modelling? After the first year of University (PR and Public Relations) I got a job as a PR director at a modeling agency. There I met my first agent. That’s how it’s all started. What do you think of the work as a model? It’s a process that brings many talented people together and allows them to create with their own unique dynamic and wonderful results. I love my work it gives me an opportunity to explore the world, to learn different cultures and traditions, to learn history and to meet new people. At the same time my work makes me miss my family and friends, and its made me appreciate them more. What is your beauty regimen? I prefer to use less product on my skin/ The less the better. The basic steps of my skin-care routine are a gentle cleanser, a moisturizer, and sunscreen. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I have a unique energy and creativity that makes many clients continue to book me over and over again. My appearance is very adaptable, clients and photographers say I’m like a chameleon, depending on light, make up and clothing style, I can give a client very different looks. What are your plans for the future? Continue to work as a model, keep meeting talented people, creating art and keep exploring the world. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? I once had a shooting with sport horses at a stable, I needed to interact with a horse that was nervous and breathing very heavily any time I was around, it was a little scary. But regardless I was very inspired because I love animals.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? Don't be afraid to gain experience. If you're aiming a goal, DO IT. You will need a lot of patience, calm, and self-discipline. What do you think of the magazine?

I love your magazine! I think it's a great platform that gives an opportunity to get to know many talented people around the world.
