Interview: Photographer Klaudia Dolna (Poland)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I am a 33-year-old real estate agent from Poland. I like traveling, photographing and reading books.

How and when did you get into photography?

My first adventures with photography started in school when I was 13. I returned to photography at the age of 28.

What does photography mean to you?

For me, photography is a form of therapy, showing the world how I perceive the world and other people's problems. It is a way to throw out negative emotions and sensitize the other person to the problems of others.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I try to show real life in a way that is not colored. I try to show beauty and ugliness, contrasts between light and shadow. The complexity of life.

Where do you get inspiration from?

In conversations with the people I meet, in the dreams and fears we talk about. In my nightmares and fears .

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?

Mostly I know what I want, but it happens that the model surprises me.

Studio, on location or both?

I love to do both.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

Hobbyst in a way to be a professional.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

It was a session with two women with different body shapes, the thinner girl was so thin that she was cold all the time and I had to heat the studio to 30 degrees and undress myself for shooting. That day, the girls talked a lot about their diseases and the hate that happens to them.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Nikon , Sigma 85 mm art <3 unfortunately i dont have this lens ;)

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

Be prepared for a lot of criticism, now everyone seems to be experts on everything, follow what you want to do and learn a lot.
