Interview: Photographer Massimo Festucci (Italy)
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Massimo, I live and work in Rome, the city where I was born. I started having a passion for photography when I was about 10 years old, I got my first Nikon analog camera as a gift on the occasion of my first communion. Since then I have always had this passion within me, and over the years it has become my passion / profession ...
How and when did you approach photography? Since I was a child I have cultivated this passion, swinging more intense periods and periods where unfortunately I could not live my passion ... What does photography mean to you?
For me photography is an inexhaustible source of sensations and emotions, in the pious little I try to make it an artistic language.
Briefly describe your photographic style for our readers. I love artistic photography, I try to be inspired by the greats of photography. I don't think my favorite genre exists but if I have to choose I would say that I am looking for beauty and elegance in glamor photography.
Where do you get your inspiration from? Obviously a great source of inspiration is art in general, both pictorial and sculptural .
Do you think in advance what you want in the photo? Yes, of course, I believe that nothing can be left to chance in photography, photographs must be designed and studied in detail .
Study, on-site or both? I love the study of light, I prefer the studio or location indoors.
Would you consider yourself a paid hobbyist or professional? I consider myself a hobbyist professional, because I believe that in every profession there must be the passion and the desire to create.
What was your most memorable session and why? I love working with actors because I believe they can give something more to the image
Nikon or Canon? Favorite target? Nikon has always paid great attention to Canon. My favorite lenses are the 24-70mm2.8 and the 50mm 1.4
What is some advice you would like to give to a new photographer who is looking to start their own business? Put a lot of passion and above all never abandon the desire to experiment and last but perhaps most important, never feeling like you have arrived… humility.
What do you think of our new magazine? I think it is a wonderful magazine and that it is well structured… a great chance for those who believe in this world of photography and fashion.
