Interview: Photographer Tatiana (Russia)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Hi, my name is Tatiana, I live in Russia. I have been doing photography for a long time, most of all I love portrait photography. Recently I have been helping other photographers with retouching.

How and when did you get into photography?

I began her journey into photography with a passion for Photoshop, loved to retouch and see before and after) Then I somehow smoothly switched to photography and have been doing it for 7 years, tried myself in different genres, photographed families, children, weddings, but I quickly realized that I like more portrait staged shooting. At first it was artistic shooting, they even called me a photo artist, now I am engaged and prefer to shoot something more like fashion.

What does photography mean to you?

Probably, this is the feeling of a feeling of creating something beautiful, not like everyone else's, unique. Expressing your vision of a direction, or even an individual person.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I would call it a female portrait shooting with fashion elements.

Where do you get inspiration from?

I can take anywhere an idea for shooting, I can see any interesting thing (it can be a raincoat, unusual earrings, gloves, whatever) and ideas begin to flash in my head what frame can be taken using this thing.

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?

Usually, yes, everything is thought out in advance. I come up with an idea and look for similar references to show it to the model and the makeup artist. Looking for a suitable location and shooting time.

Studio, on location or both?

I like studios more, probably because it's easier, you come to the studio, you know in advance what kind of light, what kind of interior and what to expect from the studio. It's more difficult in nature, you need to look for a location, get to it, choose the right weather (but the result of shooting on the street always meets expectations)

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

I can't say who exactly I am, I probably have both options)

What has been your most memorable session and why?

It was a very long time ago, we spontaneously decided to take a picture of a thinking girl with a book (we are friends with a model girl). We ran, found some modest dress, did our own hair, found an old book. We found a location nearby, but suddenly it started to rain, and we finished filming after the rain. We returned to the location, saw dirt everywhere, I could not focus on the girl, because I was just sliding through the mud, the model laughed at me a lot, but as soon as I pointed the camera at her, she became sad in an instant and we got very beautiful shots ... We still remember this shooting with her and laugh)

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

I use Canon, because before a professional camera I had a small Canon and I loved it very much) The lens is 85mm, while it is still the best for me)

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

First of all, believe in yourself, do not feel sorry for yourself and never give up.

What do you think of our new magazine?

A very beautiful magazine, a lot of interesting and inspiring works. I wish the magazine prosperity)
