Photographer: Zoran Sallai (Hungary/Sopron)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Im from Versend, but I have been living in Sopron for 14 years with my beautiful wife and our wonderful son.

How and when did you get into photography?

I started photography 3 years ago completely by accident. I only completed the basic course strictly to photograph my own family. But I fell in love right away, it was almost love at first sight. One photo shoot followed another photo shoot, I've photographed almost all my friends.

There's always somewhere to improve, I have a lot of learning behind me and even more waiting for me. I learned my further training from one of Hungary's if not the most famous portrait photographers (Pál Nánási) and I still want to learn a lot from him.

What does photography mean to you?

What does it mean?! Everything! Every feeling I can feel, be it happiness, sadness, good mood, laughter, emotion, I get it either during the preparation, during the photo shoot, during the post-production or the final result, always.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I would consider it presumptuous to say that my style has been developed. I am only halfway to my imagined style, but that much can be said for the fact that I am a portrait lover. I love human faces, they tell a thousand and one thousand different lives. They only want to  listen and capture their story.

Where do you get inspiration from?

From the easiest place in today's world: Internet

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?

In any case, every time days before the photo shoot. So that the plans are already ready for the photo shoot.

Studio, on location or both?

Primarily studio, but I also like outdoor.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

I don't think I'd ever want to be a full-time photographer. I get a lot of requests, but I wouldn't be the type of photographer, I'd like to be the one where people log in and take photos in the usual, same pose, running on a treadmill without being creative. Maybe when I've reached the style I imagined, standard.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

I wouldn't pick one out, every photo shoot is different...

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Canon eos R/Sigma Art 50mm

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

Take more photos, learn even more, accept bad criticism, it can be constructive.

What do you think of our new magazine?

I really like it and it's an honor to be asked by them!
