Interview: Model Gabriella Lomm Mann (Sweden)

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Gabriella Lomm Mann and I am a fashion model from Stockholm/Sweden. I also this year got the huge opportunity to be crowned as Miss Sweden 2020 with master coach Romeo as my director and will therefore participate in the most prestigious contest Miss Earth 2020. I grew up in the city center of Stockholm and I have since I was a little girl have had big dreams about the future. I have always seen the world as big place of endless opportunities. My passions in life is to create, develop myself and to make change. My family said to me already when I was a little girl that nothing is impossible, as long as you have your passion and your heart with you. They have supported me through a music interest that lead med to singing at the biggest events in Sweden, to supporting me with my model jobs from a young age, to support me through my studies to now have a bachelor in business administration and finance, and to now support me when representing Sweden in the most honourable way.

I have always stand for the vision that you can be whatever you want, and that you also can be the best of both worlds. That there is nothing saying that you need to choose one thing over another as long as you heart, passion, ambition and happiness is behind of you.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

If I could talk with little self when I was younger I would say don’t care what other people say about your success and don’t listen to people telling you that you can’t. Because when someone says that things are impossible, it means that it is impossible for them, not for you. When talking with myself today I want to change the acting of giving back. I am so thankful for everything I have jet accomplished in life and evrything I have been given so now it is my turn to give back. I want to take my power of be heard to talk about enviromental issues to change our future and save our planet, I want to support people that are not as privileged as I have been and I also want to speak for them who doesn’t get there voice heard. This by engage myself with volunteering and supporting activities in Sweden and worldwide.

How did you start modeling?

I signed my first contract as 16 years old when a person stopped me outside a department store and asked me if modeling was something I had thought about. It wasn’t at that age, but It ended up be one of my biggest interests in life so I will be forever thankful.

What do you think of the work as a model?

I think you can see modeling from two perspective. One perspective is the beautiful perspective to get the huge opportunity to create, express yourself, develop your confident and self-love. Also the opportunity from a young age learn to create something meaningful and be the center of something big and get the feeling of being seen and important.

But there are also one perspective that we need to work with in the society, that today has already come a far way. That is the mental illness that modeling can accrue on young girls and boys. The feeling of the opposite of the beautiful perspective. The feeling of not being enough ore not being in the ideal of what is expected.

As the modeling industry now is change their ideals and norms we also help the mental illness of you people around the area and help the world to be a more realistic and healthy place.

What is your beauty regimen?

My beauty regime is easy as I am sure that beauty comes from inside, self love, self-respect, respect to others and the environment (that we to often takes for guarantee). Also by creating the life and the routines that you deserve is a part of it. To keep this up I have very comprehensive morning rituals and I meditate. I also listening to other peoples stories and lessons in life which educates me in my thinking and develop me to be a more understanding and transparent person. I always see a new day as a new opportunity to make difference and create beauty in all categories.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I think my biggest personal quality is to create meaning in life from so many different perspective. It gives me the development I need everyday. As an accountant on one of the biggest accountant firms I everyday gets new learning and perspective, and as a model I get the power of creativity and expression. I also think one quality I have is the big respect for unequalness and the respect to other people. You don’t have to act ore be just one kind of person to create meaning, change and have an impact on others and the society.

What are your plans for the future?

I see myself as successful, strong and independent women. I see myself still working for my own development and I see myself create huge things with the power I get from the things I choose to do in life. My dream is to create difference for the planet and for others, and I see that with my own development I success I will be able to get the opportunity to speak. I want to change the culture about recycled cloths and show that it doesn’t have to be one kind of low budget style to be recycled, that real fashion also can be created from recycling. I want to create a swimwear and sport brand that are from 100% recycled material and by that start to develop a new era. I also want to speak for female independence, I will speak for climate changes and I will also speak for the power of creating and changing your life in the way you want. The power of be whoever you want and also the importance of treating others and the environment with respect and understanding. What we do will effect our future and other people in a way we can’t even dream of.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

It is hard to decide what exactly my favorite experience is because all experiences I have had, bad and good, have created the women I am today. The bad experience has developed me and changed me and the good experiences has made me understand that I am on the right way and has also been a confirmation of my hard work. I belive that all experience is good experiences. But to mention something that has change my believing that nothing is impossible is the experience I had when I was sing year 2010 at the royal wedding between princess Victoria and prince Daniel.

This was a huge opportunity for me and wonderful in all way. But why this moment is so memorable for me is because that was the day I realized that whatever your title is, princess ore prince, we are all humans with our needs and insecurities. And we are all on the same planet with the same issues. I was talking with some royalty and I understood that there was so much behind there titles and there position in the society. They had also bad days, problems and issues as everyone. You can always make dreams come true and nothing is impossible as long as you have your heart, passion and ambition with you.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

My advise is to believe in yourself and also take good care of your own brand. I see to often people losing themselves for ideal and opinions. As long as you know who you are, what you can deliver and your worth you will create something that is unique. Because everyone will always be unique. Whatever kind of model you want to become, there will always me millions of others, but no-one will ever be you. And that will always be the stregh of your brand. Never try to accomplish something someone els have done, create what you want and be creative with your thinking. And the must important is that always take the jobs where you feel that you are having your ambition, heart and passion with you, because if you are not having that: you will alway lose yourself on the way.

What do you think of the magazine?

I have read this magazine for a long time so it is a huge honor to now be a part of it. What I like with the magazine is that you get an honest and broad view of the modeling industrie. There are always new people with there experience to read about and by that you develop your thinking and your perspective by reading it. I also like how the magazine are created with lots of good questions that points out the importance for real, it makes people talk about both success but also difficulties. To many magazines are just talking about which job you have done ore what you have accomplished, more then what is behind it and who is behind it. But here you get a real and big view behind the actual person being interviewed.
