Interview: Photographer Adam Sielski (Poland)

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am a passionate photographer specializing in nature and wedding photography. Photography is my passion, which I combine with my love for travel and discovering the beauty of everyday moments in nature. I enjoy exploring wildlife and flora and telling their stories through my lens.

How and when did you start photography? 

I became interested in photography at the age of 15 when I saw the work of other photographers. Later, I bought my first camera. At first, it was just fun, but over time it became something more – a way to express myself and document the world around me.

What does photography mean to you?

Photography is the art of capturing moments, emotions, and beauty in their most authentic form. For me, it’s also a way to freeze time and convey certain stories or emotions that might be difficult to express with words.

Describe your photography style briefly for our readers.

My style is natural and emotional, with a strong focus on light and details. I love working with soft daylight, creating images that are both visually stunning and emotionally moving.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?I draw inspiration from nature, music, films, and other photography. Travel also plays a significant role in my work – every new landscape, culture, or moment can serve as inspiration for creating unique images.

Do you plan ahead what you want to capture in a photo?

I usually have a general vision before starting a session, but I leave room for spontaneity. I believe the best photos are created when we allow ourselves to capture unplanned moments.

Studio, outdoor, or both? Definitely outdoor ! Nature and daylight provide unlimited possibilities. Working outdoors allows me to be more creative and free.

Do you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

I still have the passion and joy for photography that I had from the beginning. I try to make every project more than just work for me. Definitely a hobbyist!

What was your most memorable session and why?

One of the most memorable sessions was capturing a heron on the Narew River. The weather was challenging, but the views and emotions I managed to capture were worth every effort. It was an amazing experience. Additionally, the photo was recognized on the National Geographic Poland fan page.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

I’m team Sony! My favorite lens is the Sony 200-600mm. It offers beautiful depth of field and allows me to capture stunning frames from a distance.

What one piece of advice would you give to a beginner photographer who wants to start their own business?

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and experiment. Find your own style and take photos with passion, and success will come with time. It’s also important to invest in your development – both in equipment and education.
