Interview: Model Gèbel Edina (Romania)

Can you tell us a little about you?

About me? Besides modeling, I like to be on the other side of the camera as well. I enjoy being the subject, but as a photographer, I want to improve and I’d like to create something new.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

My answer is simple: nothing! I accept myself as I am, and actually I love the person who I am. Perfection is overrated, it’s not a problem if a woman is original.

How did you start modelling?

I started modeling relatively late. I was 23 when one of my friends introduced me to a modeling agency. They were welcoming and very open minded, thanks to them, I learned a lot about the industry. In the beginning there were mostly photoshoots, but soon I also stepped to the runway. Step by step I became more experienced in the field, but there is always room for improvement.

What do you think of the work as a model?

It is a special and interesting job, it requires certain skills, but it has a very inspirational and creative side too, which I enjoy the most. I try to be as imaginative as possible both in front of the camera as well as behind it.

What is your beauty regimen?I do not really have a definitive regimen, I try to stay as healthy as possible, both in body and soul. I do sports, yoga and I enjoy hiking in my free time. These activities can energize me, and help me to feel good in my skin. Look after yourself, and your body, hair and skin will be grateful.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I respect the people around me, for me it doesn’t matter if they are photographers, designers or models. If I work together with somebody, I try to be precise, punctual and give the best of my capabilites at all time.

What are your plans for the future?

The future is still a big mystery for me. Obviously I have great plans as well. I want to improve as a model and gain more experience as a photographer, with the goal of starting my own business out of it. I think it is important to focus on the things which are happening in the present and I would like to enjoy them now. I’m still young, only 25, I want to live bravely, I want to make progress in my way and truth to be told, I’m still deciding what is the thing that I really want.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

One of my favorite experiences was my first fashion show. We presented multiple dresses of famous designers, literally in a castle. It was a full day, packed with excitement and action. This was where I met many other wonderful models, with whom I’m still working until this day. I was very excited and afraid that I’ll tip and fall during my first catwalk. I didn’t fall, but the true relief came only when I finally had the opportunity to eat something delicios. It was a great day, I enjoyed every second of it, and I was proud of myself that I accomplished it.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

Yes. Don’t be afraid of showing your true face, not just your best one.

What do you think of the magazine?

Amazing! I like this new concept, it’s great that it gives the opportunity for the artists to show themselves and share their projects with the public
