Interview: Photographer Mecuro B Cotto (Russia)

Can you tell us a little about you? I live in moscow, started shooting 10 year ago. Shooting portraiture, nu and genres photograpy How and when did you get into photography? Accidentaly i saw first digital camera, i did't see it before. And of course they have become interested in me as something new. I began to study, read, try to shoot. And so by the few, having tried about 30 different cameras. I clearly decided for myself that I want to try to shoot on a DSLR camera. And bought a first DSLR camera and started to learn. What does photography mean to you? Photography is a way of expression of the photographer. And how and what to express, everyone decides for himself. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I like pictures that you can discourse on, think about. Where photography is something more than a documentary print. Where do you get inspiration from? It's not always the same. It happens that can inspire a model with its unique body shape or can surprise and inspire unusual place of shooting. Or a listened track can make you close your eyes and sort through images in your head that you collect into something holistic and tangible. Studio, on location or both?

I shoot both in studios and on the street, even in doorways. It depends on what I want to shoot and how. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I believe that I am learning to photograph and I still have a lot to learn. What has been your most memorable session and why? Probably shooting on the lake. Where I was shooting one, but it turned out another. On my eyes, nature, environment and chance compose a photo for me. I just had to choose the perspective, angle and have time to take photo. It was some kind of magic that spellbind. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? I am shooting on Canon. I often use fixed lenses, 35, 50, 85. Other lenses less often, as required. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Experimentalize, it always born something new.
